What is CrossRef?
This is an association of scientific publishers that develops a common infrastructure to support more effective scientific communications. CrossRef's citation system today covers over 68 million journal articles and other content elements (books, dissertations, technical reports, etc.) from thousands of scientific and professional publishers around the world. This is a conditionally non-profit organization whose purpose is to facilitate the search and citation of scientific information on the Internet.
Researchgate (https://www.researchgate.net)
ResearchGate is a free social network and collaboration tool for scientists of all scientific disciplines. It provides network applications such as semantic search (search by annotation), file sharing, sharing the publication database, forums, methodological discussions, and so on. Members can create their own personal blog within the network. The site also contains a bulletin board with a list of international vacancies for scientists. The list can be sorted by keywords, position, region and country. In 2009, ResearchGate made it possible to download recently published copyrighted articles. These articles are automatically indexed by the site’s search engine. Users can read and download articles for free.
